On my final solo day in Lisbon after my mom departed, I discovered something liberating: I loved both our deep engagement AND my return to solitude.

That contrast revealed the exhaustion beneath my retreat planning fear—not just "what if no one shows up" but "what if everyone shows up and expects connection performance for four days straight?"
